If you ask me, I would have to say that the Clinton versus Trump presidential battle is curious, mystifying and extremely worrying, to say the very least. This election is not just important to Americans but the outcome is also very significant for the rest of the world. The direction, which the US will follow after this election, will have repercussions for the entire planet. In today’s world, no one is isolated from the outcome of a US election; especially this election.
This post is my take on the election battle and has been formulated from reading a wide range of articles, both for and against each of the candidates. I have tried to draw from Main Stream Media (MSM) reports as well as from alternative, online and social media reports, in order to gain the widest view.
One thing that stands out is that the reports of the MSM stand in stark contrast to the reports from the alternative media sources. It seems that these two media streams are polarized around the two candidates. If you only access one, or the other, then you will be getting a biased and distorted view of the two candidates and the manner in which the race is unfolding. Only by viewing a wide range of media can you possibly hope to have a balanced view.
The MSM seems to be unquestionably biased towards Clinton while desperately seeking to denigrate Trump at every opportunity. The MSM have been ignoring many of Clinton’s failures, scandals and questionable dealings while dragging up anything, no matter how trivial, on Trump. While the mud slinging, of this election, has been the worst we have yet seen, what is far more reprehensible is the bias of the MSM. The MSM seem to have totally lost sight of the concept of free and fair elections and are trying to pervert the election to suit their own selfish goals. They are putting their own profits before the welfare of the nation and the world. They have also forgotten that it is their job to report the news, impartially, and not to try and create the news.
So let’s look at some of the major points of this election based upon what I have found. Part 1 is about Donald Trump and Part 2, to be posted tomorrow, is about Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump

Donald Trump speaking in Las Vegas, December 14, 2015: the day before the republican presidential debate.
Is Trump a Racist?
Ever since Trump put forward his views that there needs to be tighter border security, deportation of criminal, illegal aliens and a halt to Islamic immigration, he has been labelled as a racist. However, are these really racist policies? In all of his speeches, that I have watched, not once has Trump actually said anything racist. Just saying that you are going to stop ILLEGAL aliens does not make him a racist. By definition, the people he is referring to are ILLEGAL and so action should be taken in regards to them. Trump has provided nothing but support for all LEGAL immigrants and employs many legal immigrants at all levels of his business empire. Further, if you look at the following video clip you will see that Bill Clinton proposed the same measures back in 1995 and he wasn’t labelled a racist:

In addition, there are lots of African Americans, Hispanics and even Muslims who support Trump. Why would these people be doing this if Trump was such a racist? The MSM has been telling us that he is a racist but should we just take their word for it? If there are no factual racist comments that can be attributed to him, then the obvious answer is that the MSM are lying to the world, which isn’t that surprising.
Trump has called for a halt to Islamic immigration, until the threat of importing terrorism is resolved, but this does not constitute racism, either. It is one of the primary jobs of the President, and indeed any national leader, to ensure that immigration policies are beneficial, not detrimental, to the nation. Islamic extremists and terrorists have been telling the world that they will use immigration, and refugee resettlement, to infiltrate the USA and other western nations. We have already seen the truth of this threat in Europe with a number of horrific terrorist acts. For the USA, the CIA has already confirmed that there are many terrorists entering the USA through the porous Mexican border and through refugee resettlement. Trumps plan to stop immigration until the situation is clearer, and safeguards are in place, is only sensible and right. This is most certainly not racism.
Does Trump Really Disrespect Women?
There have been a couple of old stories, dredged up and regurgitated by the MSM, to try and portray Trump as some sort of male chauvinist, sexual deviant or something equally unpleasant. The first case involved a former Miss Universe who claims to have suffered from self esteem issues after Trump allegedly called her Miss Piggy. The video clips of interviews with Trump at that time, paint a different picture of these events and you can view this video at the following link:

Trump also made some less than acceptable comments about women in a private conversation dating back eleven (11) years. While these comments were rather crass, they were nothing worse than the comments that most men, and quite a few women, make about the opposite sex when in private. Oh yes, lots of politicians and celebrities have come out and condemned Trump’s comments but I can’t believe that they are innocent of similar, perhaps even worse, comments. The hypocracy of these people is beyond belief and they would do well to remember: “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” Further, Trump has apologized for these 11 year old comments and that, in itself, shows a higher quality of character than most of his detractors.
However, if you want another example of Trump’s behaviour to women, then you should view the following video where Katie Blair, who competed in two Trump pageants talks about what Donald Trump is really like:

Let’s have a quick look at some of the other allegations of Trumps misconduct with women.
One woman, Jessica Leeds, has recently come forward and claimed that Trump groped her on a First Class flight in the 1980’s. There are several problems with this claim, and the most glaring is that why did she wait 30 odd years to come forward, right in the middle of a Presidential campaign, with her allegations? The answer to that question, and the validity of her claims, can be found in her connections to the Clinton campaign. You can read more about this here:

It seems that the Clinton campaign, with the assistance of the MSM, are desperate to find any mud that can be thrown at Trump. So far, all of their stories have been debunked quite quickly and seem to be nothing more than inventions of the anti-Trump camp.
Did Trump Misuse the Taxation System?
As Donald Trump’s leaked tax returns show, he used a legitimate part of the existing tax laws to avoid paying tax due to some large, operating cost losses. The Clinton campaign has been quick to jump on this issue and claim that Trump is a crooked businessman for doing this. However, it must be remembered that this was a legitimate claim under the tax laws and that many wealthy people have used the same rulings. Indeed, it turns out that Hillary Clinton did exactly the same thing, in 2015, with a $700,000 dollar loss of her own. So, is it wrong to Donald Trump to use the tax laws to his advantage but not wrong when Hillary Clinton does exactly the same thing? This is hypocrisy at its worst! How consistent is Donald Trump?
While there is a great deal more that can be said about Donald Trump, and about the rumours and stories that are being spread about him, I would ask you that follow up and research the stories for yourself. There are lots of examples of Trump’s honesty and generosity if you are only willing to look for them.
To finish my assessment of Trump, I am going to leave you with a couple of videos from from the past and the present. The first is where Donald Trump was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey. The second video is a compilation of Trump speeches. Take note that Trump is still saying the same things today that he said in the past. At the end of Part 2, on Hillary Clinton, I will include another video that shows how inconsistent Hillary has been over the years. To get a better assessment of both candidates, you only need to compare these videos.
