The United Nations has become ineffective as most members are not democracies. The UN is, in effect, controlled by dictators who do not value freedom nor the will of the people.
Did you know? That of the 193 member states of the UN (United Nations), only 87 are actually democracies (as defined by Freedom House [https://freedomhouse.org/]).
That is only 45% of the membership are democracies and, as each member nation has one vote each, democracy is already outnumbered from the start of any debate.
Yet, many democratic nations, run by politicians pandering to the UN, are working to surrender the rights of their people to UN resolutions on a range of issues that directly affect the rights of those citizens.
Some of these resolutions are for the good of mankind, but many are little more than attempts to subjugate all of the people under the same totalitarian views that are held by the majority of UN member nations – that is those who are NOT democracies.
We keep hearing about the New World Order, and maybe we need one, but it should NOT be based upon the wishes of the UN, as democracy is in the minority in this organisation.
I believe that the UN is a failed organisation, manipulated and distorted by the dictatorial and totalitarian nations that make up the majority of its membership. All free and democratic nations need to look to forming a new organisation with the key membership qualification being that all member nations MUST be truly democratic. The UN, as it stands, only furthers the goals and influence of it’s NON-democratic members; many of whom treat their own citizens very poorly and, in some cases, criminally.
Whenever there is a real crisis in the world, where is the UN? So often it is conspicuous by its absence and probably tied up in debate and discussion. Where was the UN during the Rwandan Genocide? Where was the UN during Mugabe’s reign of terror in Zimbabwe (which continues to this day)? Where is the UN while the extremists and criminals of Daesh run amok perpetrating horrors and atrocities of unspeakable barbarism? These are just a couple of examples and the list of UN failures and absences goes on; there have been many man-made tragedies and horrors that the UN should have responded to but either failed to do so or turned up too late.
The UN is so limited and constricted by the non-democratic nations that it has virtually ceased to be of any use in dealing with any real international crisis and it now seems to be focused more on limiting and destroying democracy around the world.
It is time to scrap the UN and opt for a new international organisation of nations but one based on democracy. A new organisation that actually works for the good of mankind and with respect for the freedoms and rights of every individual of every member nation.
So the next time one of your politicians, or your government, tells you we must follow some UN resolution, stop and think about the true implications for you, your family and your country and just remember that the resolution may have been proposed and formulated by a UN member nation with motives other than the common good.
I agree, what was the matter with the League of Nations anyway?
